The Riding School

The riding school is run for all ages, abilities and interests, from new riders and showjumping. There is a wide selection of ponies and horses that we use for the school and hacks to make sure all ages and abilities are catered for, including first time riders or anyone with disabilities or special needs

The Riding School has 9 experienced horses and ponies of different sizes and abilities suitable for all riders from beginner to experienced.

Riding Lessons are available:

  • 40 minute Child (under 16) or Adult Private Lesson

  • 40 minute Semi-Private Lesson for 2 Riders

  • 40 minute Children's (under 16) or Adults Group Lesson

  • Either Flatwork in the covered arena or Jumping in our large Outdoor Arena

  • We offer escorted hacks of 40 minutes or 1 hour into Hemsted Forest, for experienced riders or for the less experienced or more nervous on a lead rein, no experience necessary.

  • Special Offer prices for young children - 30 minute lessons, during the week or after school.

The Pony Club

Our Pony Club runs every Saturday morning throughout the year, it comprises of a 40 minute Stable Management lesson, some subjects covered include:

  • Grooming

  • Tacking up and tack cleaning

  • Preparing for a show

  • Safely transporting a horse & understanding Equine Passports

  • Feeding

  • Equine First Aid & Rider Safety

Followed by a 40 minute Group Riding Lesson of up to 6 participants.

Pony Club lessons are given by our guest BHS Advanced Instructor, Harriet.

Pony Club is open to ages 4 to 21 and caters all abilities, we may ask you to have a private assessment session prior to joining the Club to ensure we place you in the correct level group.

In Pony Club you can work towards "Achievement Badges" and BHS tests which we assess and issue here.

The Pony Club test gains UKAS points for your education.

You don't need your own pony or horse to join, you can ride one of ours!
