About Us

Here at Hemsted Forest Equestrian Centre we are a fully licensed Riding School and Livery Yard. We are located 500 meters away from an entrance into Hemsted Forest and offer hacks into the forest at times to suit you 7 days a week. We have 30 stables and just under 31 acres of grazing.

The centre is run by Kerry Hobbs, who has been working with horses full time for over 25 years, and her daughter Hayley. In the past years Kerry has trained horses for show jumping, cross country and dressage, she has broken in horses on many occasions. Kerry has now been running Hemsted Forest Equestrian Centre for approaching 10 years, and has also spent many years as a livery herself at different stables and therefore understands the needs and expectations of both the horse and the owner.

There is a wide selection of ponies and horses here we use for the Riding School and hacks to make sure all ages and abilities are catered for, including first time riders or anyone with disabilities or special needs.

Hemsted Forest Equestrian Centre is a fully registered Pony Club Centre, with highly qualified BHS instructors who are always positive, helpful and willing to work with all abilities.

At Hemsted Forest Equestrian Centre animal welfare is of the utmost importance, to make sure all the ponies and horses have what they need when they need it. Kerry and her family live on site, which also adds an extra level of security.

Kerry is fantastic at encouraging new riders and chooses the right horse for them to learn on and Harriet, our senior Instructor teaches Pony Club on Saturdays and some lessons on a Sunday.

Haley is passionate about show jumping, and loves teaching it.
